HeartThreads was a participatory opportunity that occurred while Megan Lou Gallant was the Artist in Residence at Mobank (2016) and then at the Hotel Phillips (2016), both in Kansas City, Missouri. However the opportunity to participate is always available to groups that would like to arrange a time with Megan to create and share.

HeartThreads asks you to explore the connections that make up your heart’s community, and make visible these invisible bonds.  You sit with the artist and, using self-hardening clay, make simple figures or forms–one of yourself then numerous others that represent the people (or pets!) that you love. After you create your figures, share with the artist a bit about what you made and the relationships they represent.  Who are these people in your life and what moves you about them?  What do they add to your life? By reflecting on these connections, you bring into the world the value of these relationships for you.  An image of your clay representations and a recording of your sharing will be captured and made available at this site and can then be shared directly with the people in your life.

Letting your people know how important they are to you can be a great gift you give to them, yourself, and ultimately the quality of your relationships.
